Deborah Ann Draves, 67, of Mishawaka, passed away Monday evening, January 22, 2018. After years of medical issues, she is now pain free and leaves behind many wonderful memories with her family and friends. Her great sense of humor and friendly nature will be missed.
Deb was born November 10, 1950 in Mishawaka, the daughter of the late Triphon Lema, Jr. and Barbara Jean (Geisler) Lema. Deb was a 1969 graduate of Mishawaka High School and spent her entire life in Mishawaka.
Deb married Harold E. “Spider” Draves on January 8, 2002. He survives along with a daughter, Vanessa Draves; five grandchildren, Isabella Dillman, Griffin Dillman, Christopher Lema, Javante Harris and Lavonia Miller; one great grandchild; her brother, Triphon “Tim” Lema, III; and Deb’s beloved dog, Bumpus.
Besides her parents, Deb was also preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha.
Deb was employed at School City of Mishawaka. She worked for many years as a bartender and manager at the BK Club. Deb also spent many years as bartender at Morin’s Manhattan. She was member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, BK Club, Marine Corps League and Mishawaka Alumni Association. Deb enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, collecting Puffins, shopping, going to the casino, spending time at the beach and pyrotechnics with her husband.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Deb’s life will be held from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, January 31, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
