Charles M. Scheibelhut, 69, of Mishawaka, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Chuck was born May 2, 1952 in Mishawaka to the late Leo Charles and Marjorie Evelyn (Fore) Scheibelhut. He was a 1970 graduate of Marian High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from IUSB.
On June 15, 1974, Chuck married Linda D. Kerchner at St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The couple made Mishawaka their home.
Chuck was employed for 24 years in outside sales with Thunander & Son and 22 years with Boring-Smith. He was proud of his work, spending considerable time in outside sales to the RV Industry.
Chuck was a lifelong Catholic and his faith and his family were the center of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, Notre Dame football and women’s basketball, fishing, and classic movies.
Chuck is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Linda; four children, Mark (Sarah) Scheibelhut, Jennifer (Chris) Cochran, Rebecca Scheibelhut, and Thomas (Lois) Scheibelhut; four grandchildren, Adam, Ilyas, Samuel, and Sarah; and two sisters, Barbara (Ron) Armour and Kathryn (David) Ernst.
Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis and wife Peggy Scheibelhut; an infant child; and a grandson, Benedict Thomas Joseph Scheibelhut.
A Traditional Catholic Requiem Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 14, at 10:30 am EST (9:30 am CST) at Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 501 Wayland Rd., Kingsford Heights, Indiana. Burial will take place on Friday at 1:30 pm EST at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm EST at Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 pm.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel.
